Disabling the Acer eNet Management Wireless utility

Step 1:
Launch Acer eNet Management. There are 2 ways to do it:

i.
From the Start menu, go to Start > All Programs > Empowering Technology > Acer eNet Management.
ii. By clicking on the Empowering Technology icon from your desktop, or pressing the <http://sw.nohold.net/Cisco2/Images/kb21475-015_en.png > key to launch the Empowering Technology user interface. Select the Acer eNet Management icon as the image below:

Step 2:
Now, you will see the main page of Acer eNet Management:

Step 3:
To disable the WLAN utilities, right click on the eNet Management icon on the Empowering Technology toolbar and select disable.

iv. Disabling the Odyssey Wireless utility


Step 1:
Double click the Odyssey system tray utility icon.

Step 2:
The Odyssey Access Client User Interface will appear. On the Navigation pane, select WiFi.

Step 3:
On the Content pane, uncheck Connect to the netwhttp://sw.nohold.net/Cisco2/Images/kb21475-013_en.pngork.
 

v. Uninstalling Lenovo ThinkVantage Access Connections

Step 1:
From the Start menu, go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

Step 2:
At the Add or Remove Programs window, search for ThinkVantage Access Connections then click Change/Remove.

Step 3:
Then, just follow the on-screen instructions to remove the component completely.

2. Enabling the Windows Wireless Connection Manager 

After disabling your laptop's wireless connection manager, you now need to let Windows manage your wireless connection. Please refer to the following steps for instructions.

Step 1:
Locate and double-click the Windows Wireless icon. This icon can be found on the bottom right corner of your desktop which is also known as the Windows Notification Area.

Step 2:
The Wireless Network Connection Status window should now appear on your screen. Click on the Properties button located on the bottom left corner of this window.

Step 3:
A new window should then appear displaying your computer's Wireless Network Connection Properties. In the upper area of this window, click on the Wireless Networks tab.

Step 4:
Once you're on the Wireless Networks tab, click on the checkbox for Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.

Step 5:
You should now have a green check mark in the Use Windows to configure my wireless settings checkbox, indicating that you have chosen to enable this feature. Finally, click on the OK button at the bottom of the window to apply your new settings. Windows should now be managing your wireless connection.
